EXW looks after the environment around us and our employees. We installed photovoltaic (PV) panels on the roof of the Ningbo factory. The PV solar panels have an outstanding output of 298 kWp per hour, hitting the highest daily output of 1,900 kWh and producing >30,000 kWh every month. EXW also maintains stability around the management in the workplace. 60.5% of the employees stay with EXW for 3+ years. The employee turnover rate is merely 2.6%. EXW works with the best people and helps them develop new skill sets.
Green & Global Structured Cabling Solutions Manufacturer
EXW is a green and global Ethernet structured cabling products manufacturer in Taiwan, selling OEM and ODM products in more than 85 countries. We are frequently seeking new and feasible ways to increase the potential for using more renewable resources and materials in the manufacturing process as well as in the processes of product design and packaging design. In a quarter of the year, solar photovoltaic energy alone provided 15% of Ningbo factory’s electricity consumption every month. It reduced approximately 15 tons of our monthly carbon dioxide (CO2) emission. Photovoltaics is a clean, quiet, and great renewable method of generating electrical power. We will continue to monitor our emissions, making visible progress on energy saving and carbon offsetting.
Eco-Friendly RJ45 Connectors Manufacturer: ISO 14064-1 and ISO 14067
The main focuses of our greenhouse gas management plan are increasing energy efficiency, optimizing resources, and minimizing environmental influences. Through the certification of ISO 14064-1 and ISO 14067, EXW is able to identify specific organization-level actions aimed at improving GHG management and enables quantification of our carbon footprint. We have monthly data records and make meaningful comparisons of the GHG-related data. Our commitment to continual improvement in energy management allows us to do things differently and become less dependent on non-renewable resources that typically take millions of years to develop. EXW will pursue renewable energy sources and materials to achieve sustainability and long-term success with our employees and customers.
Green Manufacturing in Structured Cabling Products: Press-Fit Technology, AOI, and Assembly
Focusing on finding new technology to further boost the production capability and to meet the increasing demands, EXW keeps investing in new facilities to provide reliable quality products! The Press-Fit technology is implemented on the keystone jack production lines. With this technology, soldering is no longer the only option for pin injection. We are always happy with technology improvement that is environmentally friendly. Going one step further to technology enhancement, EXW integrated the fully automated Press-Fit machines with the automation optical inspection (AOI) for high-speed and high-accuracy production. The AOI machines are used in the pin insertion process to inspect the pin position and to guarantee our quality. The integration of both intelligence and machines has been proven to be highly efficient for improvements in production capability and quality enhancement. With our professional research and development (R&D) team, EXW always strives for high quality and high efficiency while being eco-friendly.
RPA Automation Use Case in Manufacturing: Speed Up Processes
We've successfully introduced the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) this year and fully upgraded to a digitalized manufacturer who aims to go paperless in the next few years. The RPA can execute 4 major procedures: material purchasing, purchase ordering process, invoicing process, and inventory management. The RPA is streamlining these processes for better business management to promote the collaboration of human and digital systems, to produce innovative changes, and to greatly improve operational efficiency. In the past, the sales department spent an average of 1.5 hours per person to enter a purchase order with 80 items in the system. The process was time-consuming and highly repetitive. After using the RPA, each person only uses 25 minutes to complete the task, which is a significant saving of 72% of the conventional work that is originally relied on manpower. EXW has become a role model in the industry with bot intelligence working mode and strong competitiveness. We will continue to put our best efforts to manufacture products of the best quality while protecting the environment to build a better future together.
EXW Gives Back to the Community:Ambulance Donations
It had been a hectic period for those who work in the medical field, especially for ambulance dispatchers and paramedics due to an ambulance shortage. Despite a steady decline in the COVID-19 case count, there was an increasing number of people who needed to immediately check into hospitals for varying causes. We would like to support our emergency medical services (EMS) because this is an issue that can be fixed alone. Ambulance shortage is a serious problem, which leads to longer ambulance wait times and a greater chance of missing the golden hour. A total of 6 ambulances are donated over a 6 year period in an effort to alleviate the ambulance shortage. Each ambulance is named after the company name and its subsequent number. EXW One is the first ambulance that we donated in 2018 and EXW Five in 2022 (we skipped EXW Four because 4 is pronounced very similarly to death in Chinese). We will continue to give back to society to create a better world for everyone.
Corporate Library in Manufacturing Factory
5,115 books are in the library of the Ningbo factory. Our employees can come into the library in their free time and take their favorite books home for the enjoyment of reading as a leisure activity. Reading books can improve brain connectivity (imagination, creativity, concentration, and memory), enhance knowledge, and boost confidence (communication skills) by sharing feedback.
Children’s Day Gifts
The Ningbo factory joined the community along with many companies nearby and gave out bags full of gifts to children whose parents are workers of the companies in the community. The parents had been away from their children and homes in other cities or provinces for a period of time, sometimes for months. EXW gave out lovely gifts such as colored pens, number puzzle games, jumping ropes, sketch books, children’s books, and bookmarks. EXW cares for our employees and their families. EXW also helped send cards with the parents' heartwarming messages to their children. The community has been doing this for 14 years.
